This report examines the drivers' perspective of an ongoing transition by a logistics company switching from private cars to using Paxster, an electric 4-wheel moped. This was done using literature, interviews, field observations and a survey that was sent out to 1174 drivers. Results show that weather protection and safety are the areas that drivers are least satisfied with when switching to Paxster. Issues with weather protection can be mitigated through more experience, better routines and better equipment. Changes to the vehicle itself could also contribute to better weather protection and especially protection against the cold. While cold weather is a challenge for driver comfort, driving on ice and snow was not seen as a major challenge compared to private cars. Despite private cars being evaluated as feeling both safer and more comfortable, 7 of 10 drivers who had tried a Paxster would choose it again, suggesting that the benefits related to using a more purpose built vehicle that is easier to get around in outweigh the disadvantages for drivers.
