In this report, transport performance figures for the year 2008 are presented together with other relevant Norwegian transport statistics. Domestic passenger transport performance increased by 2.1 per cent in 2008. Road traffic rose by 1.3 per cent. Public transport by tram and rail also increased in 2008. Even domestic air transport showed an upward trend. International passenger transport in 2008 was higher than ever, about 57 million trips being taken across the Norwegian border. Domestic freight transport increased by 4.6 per cent in 2008, both road and rail showing considerable growth.
